Dennis Futoryan is a first-generation American attorney of Jewish-Ukrainian heritage. He earned his B.A. from Brooklyn College and his J.D. from New York Law School, where he received the Blanche & Bert Vann Memorial Scholarship in 2018-2019. During his time there, he served as a Senator in the Student Bar Association, President of the school's chapter of the American Constitution Society, and Moot Court Member.
Concentrating in tort civil litigation and trial advocacy, Dennis has successfully represented personal injury plaintiffs in a wide range of cases, from car accidents to premises liability, recovering millions in compensation for his clients. Dennis' overarching focus is making his clients whole after traumatic events suddenly disrupt their lives, and loves pursuing justice through aggressive and creative means - negotiating, mediating, arbitrating, litigating, and trying cases - ensuring that his clients can have their day in court. He is admitted to practice in New York and in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
Dennis brings significant experience from the public sector, having worked with members of Congress, New York State Assembly members, State Senators, and City Council members. He also served as a Special Assistant Corporation Counsel in NYC Family Court, where he prosecuted child abuse and neglect cases and litigated under supervision even before being admitted to the bar. Additionally, he contributed to election law matters during New York's high-pressure voting seasons.
With a strong background in constitutional law,Dennis contributed research to former ACLU President Nadine Strossen's book, "Hate: Why We Should Resist It with Free Speech, Not Censorship," and served as her managing research assistant. He has published articles on local zoning and federal legal matters in City Law and Law Street. Dennis returned toBrooklyn College as an adjunct professor to teach "Law and the Political Process," and has led experiential "Know Your Rights" legal seminars for both adults and children.
In 2021, City & State recognized Dennis as one of its "10 In Their 20s" for his work hosting The 25th Hour, a weekly New York news recap podcast featuring interviews with prominent legal scholars, journalists, and elected leaders.
Beyond his legal career, Dennis actively participates in South Brooklyn's Community Board 15, where he helps oversee the well-being of neighborhoods like Sheepshead Bay, Manhattan Beach, Kings Highway, and East Gravesend.
In his free time, Dennis enjoys binge-watching shows (horror and legal dramas are a plus) and going on adventurous global travels with his wife, Nicole, and shamelessly spoiling their tiny Chihuahua-Pug, Minnie.
