Joshua Halilej is a first-generation attorney awaiting admission to the New York State Bar. He graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in May of 2024 as a Ronald H. Brown scholar.
While at St. John’s, Josh competed in Mock Trial as a senior member of the Polestino Trial Advocacy Institute, winning a commendation for Best Opening Statement at the Charles M. Sparacio Internal Competition. He is driven by a desire to help others, having worked with LegalAid to represent the people of Queens in housing disputes at New York Civil Court in Jamaica, Queens. Now, Josh uses these skills along with his passion for litigation at the Gabriel Law Firm with the goal of practicing in Personal Injury upon admission to the New York State Bar.
Outside of work, Josh enjoys playing basketball and spending time with friends and family. He also has an appreciation for foreign languages – he speaks Portuguese and French proficiently, and is presently learning Spanish.
