About Patrick

Patrick J. Garvey received his Juris Doctor from Touro Law School, and his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in law from American University. He is licensed to practice law in New York, including Federal Court within the Eastern and Southern Districts. He received a scholarship to study law in England and The Netherlands through The Comparative Justice Institute via American University. Mr. Garvey received a grant from American University to conduct an empirical study on the homeless problem. He also studied law and human rights issues in China through Touro Law School. Further, Mr. Garvey was a Professor of Law at Briarcliff College in New York, and is an accomplished author and inventor.

Mr. Garvey is an experienced attorney who handles personal injury cases including slip and fall, labor law and motor vehicle accidents. When asked why he pursued law, he stated, “I have a passion for helping others, especially those who have nowhere else to turn.” He previously worked at different firms in New York including Baker Greenspan and Bernstein, DeSena and Sweeney and The Law Office of Peter M. Zirbes. Mr. Garvey also received the honor of working at The White House, Washington, DC, during the Clinton Administration, in Legislative Affairs and Presidential Personnel.

Mr. Garvey’s accomplishments and awards include grants and scholarships to conduct an empirical study concerning the homeless problem in America, the study of law in The Netherlands and England and the study of law and human rights issues in China. He published articles in several law journals including an article revealing issues regarding The Digital Millennium Copyright Act. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the American Biographical Institute’s Order of International Merit, the American Biographical Institute’s Man of the Year, induction in Strathmore Who’s Who and Covington’s Who’s Who, recipient of the Nathan Burkan Memorial Award for his published article regarding intellectual property, American Society of Composers and Publishers Award (ASCAP) and The New York State Bar Association Business Law Journal Award for published article. According to Mr. Garvey, “It’s important to help others and give back to the community, even when nobody is looking or watching you.” Mr. Garvey provided many people in need with free legal assistance, and volunteered to coach dozens of youth soccer and volleyball teams including becoming the Coordinator for the boys and girls volleyball program through CYO.
