Lori Nevias, a life-long New Yorker and native of Brooklyn, attended Brooklyn College before enrolling in Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in Greenwich Village. Prior to attending law school she attempted a career as a guitarist-singer-songwriter. During that time and while attending law school and starting her legal career, she spent 11 years living on a houseboat in Brooklyn, and still has a hard time sleeping through the night on dry land.
Lori started off her career as an associate attorney with several top-notch local law firms, and prior to joining Gabriel & Moroff PC. had a successful 22 –year career as a sole practice attorney. Lori’s legal experience includes practice in plaintiff’s medical malpractice, plaintiff and defendant’s personal injury, real estate, contracts, land use litigation, divorce, child support and custody, trusts and estates, general practice, civil litigation and animal law. Lori is very happy to be practicing exclusively in the area of personal injury, where she feels she can best use her skills as a zealous, compassionate client advocate.
Lori is also a formidable trial lawyer who has argued and tried cases before the New York State Court of Appeals, the First, Second and Third Departments of the Appellate Division, and in Federal, State and local courts from Schenectady to Staten Island. She is mom to two adult daughters of whom she is infinitely proud, and to a fluctuating number of cats and dogs. Her hobbies are biking, gardening, music and reading science fiction, and she still performs with a rock band at local venues.
